Coke ranked as family friendly advertiser
For the AJC
Atlanta-based Coca-Cola Co. made the 2009 top 10 best advertisers list for supporting family friendly programming, according to the Parents Television Council.
The non-profit group produces its annual ranking by tracking prime time advertising buys for companies. It ranks the best and worst, criticizing companies that support TV shows with sexual content, violence and profanity.
Coca-Cola ranked third among the best advertisers behind General Mills and Clorox, drawing applause from the group. Yum! Brands, the parent company of Taco Bell, KFC and Pizza Hut, topped the list for worst advertisers. For the complete rankings, visit www.parentstv.org.
