Coca-Cola Co. will test its new Freestyle fountain dispenser at a host of Southern California restaurants, the company said Wednesday.

The dispenser, billed as the “fountain of the future,” already has been installed in 10 Jack in the Box restaurants in San Diego County. Installations also are planned in some Subway, Carl’s Jr., El Pollo Loco, Noodles and Pei Wei Asian Diner restaurants throughout the summer.

Freestyle can dispense up to 100 beverages in the same amount of space as a standard eight-valve machine. The fountains also are being tested in select quick-serve restaurants in Atlanta. JOE GUY COLLIER
