Channel 2 WSB-TV, Telemundo in partnership
For the AJC
Channel 2 WSB-TV and Telemundo Atlanta (WKTB) will share local news content under a partnership announced Monday.
The deal will give Channel 2 WSB-TV access to news about metro Atlanta's Hispanic community while supplying Telemundo Atlanta general local news for use on its weeknight evening news broadcasts.
Marian Pittman, news director at Channel 2 WSB-TV, said the partnership offers "a great opportunity for Channel 2 Action News to serve the growing Hispanic population . . . " Telemundo Atlanta General Manager Michael Burrell said it will help his station provide "the most up-to-date news and information to our Hispanic and bilingual viewers."
Channel 2 WSB-TV and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution are part of Cox Media Group, a unit of Atlanta-based Cox Enterprises.
