AirTran will discontinue flights to Charleston
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
AirTran Airways plans to discontinue its Atlanta-Charleston flights effective Dec. 3. The Orlando-based carrier, which has its largest hub in Atlanta, flies from Atlanta to Charleston three times a day. AirTran spokesman Christopher White said the airline is cutting the route because of the fuel spike last year and continued economic weakness. Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines flies from Atlanta to Charleston 12 times a day and plans to continue the route.
