AGCO Corp. in Duluth to get $5M federal energy grant

Duluth-based AGCO Corp. will receive up to $5 million from the U.S. Department of Energy as part of a national project to develop high-tonnage biomass feedstocks for cellulosic biofuels production.
AGCO is one of five entities, including Auburn University and Genera Energy of Knoxville, sharing in the $21 million DOE grant. AGCO is looking at reducing costs of getting high-tonnage biomass to cellulosic biofuel processors through a system of densified, large square bales.
