Greg Norton leads G-Braves

Greg Norton drove home two runs with a triple in the sixth inning as the Gwinnett Braves rallied for a 5-4 victory against Buffalo on Tuesday night in the first game of a four-game series in Lawrenceville.

Norton’s two-out pinch-hit triple scored Chris Burke and Antonio Perez. Reid Gorecki followed the triple with a single that scored Norton.

The Bisons had scored three in the top of the sixth — the highlight a two-run triple by Jesus Feliciano — to take a 4-2 lead.

The G-Braves scored first with two runs in the first inning. With one out, Barbaro Canizares doubled to left to score Reid Gorecki and Brooks Conrad.

G-Braves starter Jonny Venters lasted 5-1/3 innings, allowing four earned runs while giving up five hits and walking three. He had two strikeouts.

Luis Valdez got the save, his 13th of the season.
