Cutting TV watching can help cut pounds? Well, duh.

Researchers at the Stanford University School of Medicine have found that adults who watch less TV are more active and, therefore, lose weight.

Sitting in front of the TV isn’t conducive to weight loss? Who would have guessed?

I just thought this was common sense, but I guess the medical community needed some proof.

Now, their study followed overweight adults, so don’t take their results to mean that anyone who cuts their TV watching in half will burn more calories.

The amount of extra calories the members of the test group burned per day was nearly the equivalent of a granola bar, so definitely don’t expect to drop a pant-size just by dropping the remote.

Still, reducing the amount of TV you watch is never a bad idea. Though, I won’t be practicing what I preach. I’m still not caught up on DVR-ed programs that recorded while I was on vacation last week.

Read all the details of their study to learn more.

Or there is the alternative…watching TV while exercising. I do that to keep my mind off of the minutes remaining.
