Animated TV shows rolling out on Blu-ray
South Park season 12 to be released on Blu-ray on March 10.
I am just as confused as you probably are.
I think this might be the first animated TV show to make the jump into Blu-ray which is odd since the show isn’t even presented in widescreen. They say it will be in widescreen on Blu-ray which means that they created the show that way, but didn’t broadcast it.
The Venture Brothers third season will released on Blu-ray as well on March 23. This appears to be the beginning of trend of HD cartoons. Star Wars: The Clone Wars is broadcast in HD, so I am sure it will be in line for a Blu-ray release.
Will you buy animated TV shows on Blu-ray, or do you think it’s kind of pointless? What could HD do to enhance South Park or The Venture Brothers? At least The Clone Wars is CGI.
