Things coming together for ‘Ghostbusters 3’
MTV Movies Blog has some news about the next Ghostbusters film.
A pair of writers from NBC’s ‘The Office’ will be helping pen the script. This bodes well, since ‘The Office’ is one of the funniest shows currently on TV.
Bill Murray (who I had always heard was completely disinterested in doing a third Ghostbusters film) has spoken up saying he is interested in returning. He also thinks that they should consider adding a female Ghostbuster to the cast.
Sigourney Weaver says she will be talking to Bill Murray next week about her possible role in the film. She speculates that her character probably married Murray’s and they had a child together.
Does this mean their child would be a ‘Ghostbuster’? That sounds more likely than the aging former cast picking up proton packs and capturing ghoulies. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to have ‘Ghostbusters 3’ use the original cast and just leave it at that, but that’s not the way Hollywood works. They’ll muck it up with the young talentless faces currently in the celebrity spotlight.
