Wilberforce to hold career fair
WILBERFORCE - Wilberforce University will host its annual career fair Monday to help students complete required co-ops and internships.
The career fair, held in the Alumni Multiplex and open to the public, begins at 1 p.m. Hila Williams, director of cooperative education, said in a news release the co-op requirement helps students get “a head start before they begin jobs in the real workplace.”
The state’s 10-year plan for higher education includes more than doubling the number of students involved in co-ops and internships to 100,000 by 2017.
Some past Wilberforce students have worked at the NASA Glenn Research Center, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and Kraft Foods. All three employers will be recognized with awards during the career fair.
