Sanity prevails in BB gun case
Reporter Amelia Robinson just told me Xenia schools have decided not to expel a student who carried a BB gun near a school.
She said school officials decided common sense needed to prevail in this case. Look for a complete story in tomorrow’s paper.
Any thoughts on the decision?

I like Mary’s comment the only problem is that money came out of our (the tax payer’s) pockets maybe we should take it out of the school board’s (not the teacher’s) salaries next yearBy Mary

I figure for all the time and money spent on this issue by salaried doofuses in schools and the courts, we could have sent the kid to Harvard and saved some tax dollars.By Napoleone

I completely agree with the decision. The law punishes people partly based on what they did and partly based on their intent. This child had no intention of doing anything wrong with his BB gun, but made a mistake by bringing it onto school grounds. He was punished severely, but not too severely.By Barry

I am still waiting for the people who came up with this “zero tolerance” rule to lose their jobs, their pensions, and their homes. There is zero.zero reason why these children should be punished for what they did, the school administrators are the ones that should be punished for being useless gits for having this rule. A 10 day suspension for meeting some friends to go target shooting? Since when did we become a communist police state. Remind me to add Xenia to the list of places never to go to buy things (right next to Troy)
