Promotion for head of Austin’s Univision, Telefutura stations

Luis Patiño, general manager of the Univision and Telefutura stations in Austin and San Antonio, has been promoted to senior vice president for Univision Television Group.

In his new role, Patiño will continue to head Austin’s KAKW and KTFO and San Antonio’s KWEX and KNIC, as well as overseeing Univision-owned stations in Bakersfield, Calif.; Fresno, Calif.; Phoenix; Sacramento, Calif.; San Francisco and Tucson, Ariz.

Patiño joined Univision in 1997, arriving in Texas after a stint at the Spanish-language broadcaster’s Los Angeles station, where he served in a variety of ad sales roles.
