This week on the Longhorn Network …
A couple Longhorn Network tidbits to pass along …
First, there’s nothing new to report on additional deals with cable and satellite providers. As of now, it’s just Verizon FiOS nationwide and the six small(ish) cable companies in East Texas and the Houston area that were announced Friday, just hours before LHN signed on.
No Central Texas providers are on board yet. In fact, I heard from Time Warner Cable just a short time ago … nothing new to report.
As soon as I get news, I’ll pass it along. Hey, I’m here for YOU. (And for that paycheck I get every two weeks.)
OK, anyway, here are some programming details for those of you who can actually see LHN …
Joey Harrington and UT alum Priest Holmes have been added to the broadcast team for the weekly “Texas GameDay” pre-game show. Harrington played for the Lions, Dolphins, Falcons and Saints; Holmes for the Ravens and Chiefs.
“Home Plate with Augie Garrido” debuts Thursday at 10 p.m. on “Longhorn Extra.” UT’s legendary baseball coach will take viewers to some of his favorite Austin-area restaurants as part of this recurring series.
In-studio guests this week on “Longhorn Extra” are basketball recruit Myck Kabongo tonight; offensive coordinator Bryan Harsin Thursday; and Harrington Friday.
On “Texas All Access,” which airs Wednesday at 8 p.m., viewers will get the “inside story” on how UT football coaches made their pick for starting quarterback this season.
