UT trots out fancy new TV ads

Folks who tuned in for the Longhorn Network’s debut broadcast Friday night were among the first in the nation to see a cool new public service announcement for — you guessed it — the University of Texas.

The university is rebooting its “What Starts Here Changes the World” campaign with a series of commercials turning the UT Tower into a 3-D puzzle that twists and turns to reveal images of famous alums, including football legend Ricky Williams.

The ads are the work of Austin-based GSD&M and Klip Collective.

Look for more to appear later this year on a number of TV networks, including ABC, ESPN and Fox Sports. They’ll also pop up on the ginormous scoreboard at Darryl K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.
