Fred Cantu’s last Spanish-language 5 and 10 p.m. newscasts on Telemundo 42.2 were on Friday.
There was no press release about it, but at the end of Friday’s newscast his co-anchor Karla Leal (with Cantu next to her) told viewers that it was his last day.
Leal said that Cantu will continue to be a part of KEYE’s news team — KEYE operates Telemundo locally — presenting tech news segments.
Cantu was replaced with Diego Munoz, who had been at Univision 62. Munoz started his anchor gig at Telemundo on Monday.
