Emmy news roundup

The news wires are running hot with Emmy news. The Awards, to be broadcast live nationwide Sunday, regularly spur lists of should win/will win predictions — mine will be posted soon here — but there are other interesting takes on the Emmys, too. Here are a few:

The Hollywood Reporter writes about why this year’s ratings — with the networks’ broadcasting contract for the Awards up for renewal — are critical to the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

The Associated Press has a good overview of presenters and after-parties.

Zap2it weighs in on whether or not Conan O’Brien will be legally prohibited from being funny in an acceptance speech, should his “Tonight Show” win.

AOL has a fun story that wonders if Emmy’s seating arrangements give clues to the winners.

I’ll be live-tweeting the Emmy Awards ceremony Sunday night. My thoughts will be fed into a blog post right here or you can follow me on Twitter.
