Dale directs, writes and performs with Austin's Gag Reflex comedy ensemble, is a freelance illustrator and has contributed stories and reviews to Macworld magazine. He lives in Round Rock with his wife, two children and a dog named Apollo who barks whenever he hears another dog bark on television.

Here’s a quick iPhone video of a contestant who was in line to audition for “American Idol” this morning at the Frank Erwin Center. It was still dark out when I shot this with Kristi Bacon, who says her mom told her she “was singin’ before I could talk.”
