Wes Hayden moves into ‘Bachelor Pad’

Wes is back!

According to a news release from ABC, Austin country singer Wes Hayden is in the cast of the new reality competition series “Bachelor Pad,” debuting in August.

The show will feature 19 former cast members from the “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” series. Hayden, whom ABC calls perhaps the “most notorious” contestant in the franchise’s history, appeared in Season 5 of “The Bachelorette.” He was portrayed as going on the show for publicity and having a secret girlfriend during taping, but during a 2009 interview with the American-Statesman, Hayden said of the show “They cut, they paste, they left vital sentences out.”

Hayden and the other contestants will compete in challenges and go on dates, with the winner receiving $250,000.

“Bachelor Pad” is set to premiere at 7 p.m. Aug. 9.
