Monday:
‘Texas Debates: Democratic Primary Gubernatorial Debate’ 7 p.m., PBS: Bill White and Farouk Shami duke it out and Doug Dunbar moderates.
‘Heroes’ 8 p.m., NBC: Peter tries to rescue Emma while Noah and Claire fight for survival in the season 4 finale.
‘Castle’ 9 p.m., ABC: Joe Torre guest stars in a tale of murder and baseball. I’m calling that one foul.

Tuesday:
‘American Idol’ 7 p.m., Fox: New permanent judge Ellen DeGeneres joins Randy, Kara and Simon in Hollywood, where contestants vie for 24 spots on the show.
‘Samantha Brown’s Inside the Suitcase’ 7 p.m., Travel: Seriously? Inside? I know she’s tiny, but that’s just ridiculous.
‘Lost’ 8 p.m., ABC: Remember that old episode entitled, ‘What Kate Did’? Well tonight’s installment is called, ‘What Kate Does,’ because they’re flashing sideways now, not forward nor backward. Get it? My head hurts.
‘Jay Leno Show’ 9 p.m., NBC: Among Leno’s guests for his final prime time show? Ashton Kutcher. And there you have it, America, in a nutshell.
‘Watch What Happens: Matchmaking Live’ 10 p.m., Bravo: Stop telling me what to do.

Wednesday:
‘Charlie Brown Valentine’ 7 p.m., ABC: We each have our own little, red-haired girl somewhere, don’t we?
‘Modern Family’ 8 p.m., ABC: Jay and Gloria, Phil and Claire, and Cameron and Mitchell celebrate Valentine’s Day.
‘Monster Quest’ 8 p.m., History: Tonight’s monster is West Virginia’s Mothman, who’s really not so bad unless he gets into your closet.

Thursday:
‘Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains’ 7 p.m., CBS: Season 20 pits the good against the bad: Colby? Good. ‘Boston’ Rob? Bad.
’30 Rock’ 8 p.m., NBC: Jon Bon Jovi guests as himself as Elizabeth Banks’ multi-episode arc as Jack’s new love interest begins.
‘In Performance at the White House’ 8 p.m., PBS: President Obama and the First Lady host a celebration of music from the Civil Rights Movement.

Friday:
‘Winter Olympics: Opening Ceremony’ 6:30 p.m., NBC: Other networks’ Friday night programming goes into hibernation while the parade of Nations and the lighting of the cauldron highlight the traditional spectacle.

Saturday:
‘Austin City Limits’ 7 p.m., PBS: Super group Them Crooked Vultures performs.

Sunday:
‘The Simpsons’ 7 p.m., Fox: Ice skating, curling and Bob Costas? It’s not the Olympics, it’s The Simpsons!
‘Amazing Race’ 7 p.m., CBS: The 16th installment of the competitive reality series kicks off in Los Angeles.
