‘Sing-Off,’ Night 2

All the groups seemed more relaxed and sounded better last night, perhaps none more than Voices of Lee. The judges had nice things to say about their performances of Alicia Keys’ “No One” and George Michael’s “Freedom 90.” We keep hoping that Austin’s Garland Phillips will get a little more screen time — it seems like her family’s musical tradition would make for a more interesting storyline than some we’ve seen so far on the show. But there’s still time: Unless one of them messes up big time tonight, Voices of Lee, the Beelzebubs and Nota see almost certain to head to next Monday’s finale over the SoCals and Maxx Factor.
