Dale Roe writes about television for the Austin American-Statesman.

He's worked at the American-Statesman for 10 years and has written family movie and video game reviews as well as watched lots of TV. Dale directs, writes and performs with Austin's Gag Reflex comedy ensemble, is a freelance illustrator and has contributed stories and reviews to Macworld magazine. He lives in Round Rock with his wife, two children and a dog named Apollo who barks whenever he hears another dog bark on television.

Chief Meteorologist Mark Murray announced via Facebook that Albert Ramon has joined the KVUE Storm Team. Here’s Mark’s post:

My thanks to Ilona and Micah McCauley for doing a little fill-in work for us over the past few weeks! Now, help me welcome the newest member of the KVUE Storm Team, Albert Ramon! Albert is from Corpus Christi, where he worked as the Chief Meteorologist at KZTV. Albert will normally be working our weekend newscasts, but will be filling in for Meghan on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. He’s on Facebook, too!

Here’s a link to Albert’s bio on the KZTV Web site. Some highlights:

— Grew up in Beeville, Texas
— Studied Atmospheric Science at Texas A&M University
— Received his Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications in Media Studies from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi

Our loss is your gain. Though good ole Al is a bit full of himself, he is a great on the air personality even if his actual people to people persona doesn't come close to matching his on air persona. he wanted a bigger market, I think Austin will be his last stop in the TV game.

we summer in Minnesota and came back and Where was Albert Raamon. We really miss his smiling face and his weather reports.

Sure do miss Albert in Corpus Christi. You all got a real go getter and a wonderful young man. I know he'll make you proud.

I used to watch albert all the time in Corpus, now that I live in San Antonio, I miss his newscasts! he was the best. Glad to see he is at a great place
