Tom DeLay’s “Dancing” departure delayed

Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay made it through week 2 of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.” He and partner Cheryl Burke performed a relatively clean (if uninspired) tango Monday night. It was much less bizarre than last week’s lip-sync and air guitar YouTube-phenomenon cha cha to the Troggs’ “Wild Thing.”

The number received a lowish score of 18 from the judges. Combined with their score from the previous week, DeLay and Burke ended the night tied for the second lowest combined total and in a prime spot for elimination.

But viewers voted — Kathy Ireland and partner Tony Dovolani were sent packing instead — and the Hammer and his professional coach will return next week.

Did the judges and America make the right call? What type of dance would you like to see DeLay and Burke perform? Would you like to see DeLay go all the way or do you find his booty-shaking embarrassing? Sound off!

DeLay will be just fine when the dance is the gerrymander. Of course when it's the tango he will only remember the movie Tango & CASH.

Hey Tom can dance. He has experience in the Political arena. Have you ever seen him dance the "do a little side step, a little side step". As a well honed politian he was good and since he has stayed out of jail one can only think he is just getting better.

Impartial observer, you should change your name to Austin Observer. You have very little credibility and a very large mouth. Mr. Delay has not been convicted of anything that would send him to a prison. I don't know about the felonious part, but I am thinking you have pronounced the man guilty with Roy Bean Justice. Now, go away. As a Blue Dog Democrat, I see the reason our party cannot get traction in Texas. Too many morons on OUR side.

So...Impartial_observer, can you tell us what felons Mr. DeLay was convicted of? None! Zero! Nada! Your buddy Ronnie Earle made a complete fool of himself by trying to charge DeLay with everything but the kitchen sink but he failed.
I'm no fan of DeLay personally, but your accusations of him being a felon is a typical Liberal lie.

The ONLY reason this entity is still on ANY show is its name draw. WHAT, exactly, qualifies this slag as a "star"?

His case is still in limbo. DeLay's attorneys actually argued that, because the money laundered was in the form of a check instead of "cash or promise to pay", the law prohibiting corporate donations to Texas political campaigns was not broken! The two Repugnacan appointees that heard the appeal agreed and the third judge, a Dem, did not. When the Dem judge tried to file a minority opinion in the case, the two Repugnacans blocked the contrary opinion from the record. This action was not only a legal outrage, but unprecedented. Stay tuned. The Hammer may still get nailed.

Can someone please explain why this felonious criminal isn't yet in prison, where he fully deserves to be? Thanks in advance!

This paper is just full of hateful and meanspirited reporters. If it is Republican you got to try to trash him/her. Got your goat that Delay is still there??? I am so happy that you and your band of thug "reporters" down there at the Austin UnAmerican are so unhappy. You cannot explain why is it that Delay is still there???? It is is because people like you and your comments that make us each week go and VOTE for him. Haaaaaaaa Haaaaaaa. I know it must stick in your craw and I love to see how upsetting it is for you.
