Adrian Alaniz was named the Big 12 pitcher of the week Monday for his complete-game performance against Oklahoma on Saturday.
Alaniz held the No. 17 Sooners to three hits while striking out five during Texas’ 3-1 victory.
Alaniz is 8-1 this season with an impressive 1.75 ERA.

The Texas baseball team is ranked No. 7 in the latest Baseball America poll, moving up two spots in the rankings after going 3-1 last week.
The Longhorns (25-9, 7-2) face University of Texas-San Antonio on Tuesday before heading to Lawrence, Kan., on Thursday to take on the Jayhawks in a three-game series.
