David Thomas shows off to scouts at multiple positions
Texas tight end David Thomas was trying to show off all his skills Monday at the NFL Combine by participating in position drills with the tight ends, running backs and linebackers.
Thomas’ time of 4.67 seconds in the 40-yard dash was considered quick for an athlete who was measured at 6-3, 252 pounds. However, his time ranked last among the tight ends. Maryland’s Vernon Davis ran a jaw-dropping 4.38 and his vertical jump was 42 inches. That’s the same jump normally put up by cornerbacks drafted in the first round.

I don't remember professional tightends jumping for passes. Am I missing something? Maybe that's for dunking the ball over the goal post. Good luck David.

What makes David Thomas so special is his "soft" hands. He can catch the ball!
Hook 'em David! I look forward to watching you play in the NFL.

Time and jump iisn't everthing. David Thomas is as good as they come. I bet he is drafted high or the scouts don't know what they are doing.
It never occured to me that thomas play line backer but Its possible but fullback-tight ends and he will be another Moose Johnson.

David Thomas is a great story of a person who has continued to improve during his career. My recollection is that he was not a highly touted recruit, but has been a steady performed who always was there to do his part. He reminds me of Terry Orr who had a long productive pro career. I wish David the best.

Times, Whatever? How about measuring them by how many clutch catches Thomas made on a National Championship team.

David Thomas was a key figure the last two years at UT. He was even a bigger figure this past year and helped UT win a national championship. Vernon Davis has done what?
