Dave Thomas lived in a small apartment on Anderson Lane during the heyday of Willie and Waylon and the Armadillo World Headquarters in 1972. Unfortunately, he was only a year old. He's returned to Austin a couple times since then, most recently arriving from San Angelo in early 2002. He pays the bills as a copy editor and designer, but secretly longs to be a world championship barbecue cook-off judge. He drives a '98 Chevy pickup named after a Billy Joe Shaver song and loves a San Antonio girl named Shannon.

In the spirit of “how fast can I write a blog entry?”, I give you …
Breakfast Haiku

I can feed myself.

But Dad is even better.

Hey! I hate turkey!

Dave,
Grind, blend, or process fresh food (fruits and veggies too) and save it in refrigerated containers to feed the kid...you'll save a bunch of money and it's WAY healthier. Add a pinch of sugar, nutmeg or cinnamon to what's funky; he'll eat his heart out.
