Dave Thomas lived in a small apartment on Anderson Lane during the heyday of Willie and Waylon and the Armadillo World Headquarters in 1972. Unfortunately, he was only a year old. He's returned to Austin a couple times since then, most recently arriving from San Angelo in early 2002. He pays the bills as a copy editor and designer, but secretly longs to be a world championship barbecue cook-off judge. He drives a '98 Chevy pickup named after a Billy Joe Shaver song and loves a San Antonio girl named Shannon.

Bottlecaps & Wingnuts will return in early March. By then, hopefully, everyone will be healthy and a Willie Nelson article will be written.
See you after Texas Independence Day.
