It has been a pleasure to have gone on this journey with you.

Enjoy the family, BBQ, Beer, and football.

You and your blog will definitely be missed. You have thoroughly entertained all your loyal fans, and the Boy is so cute! Love to all.

As you blog off into the sunset, I wish you happiness and the best in all that lies ahead of you. I really enjoyed your blog and keeping up with a fellow new parent over the past 15+ months.
Thanks for letting us in!

Sure will miss your blog! Been a reader for over a year now and have always enjoyed it. Take care of yourself as well as Shannon and the Boy.

I am sorry to hear this. Hope everything goes well with you.

I am truely sad to hear that this is coming to an end. I've been reading your blogs from the beginning and although I've only commented one other time, you've definately left an impression. As someone who grew up in west Texas and now has a one year old of her own I have enjoyed the metamorphosis. I forwarded this blog to several of my friends who keep up with you now as well, and your love for Willie is shared by my husband. There are way more than five of us. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors and know that you will be missed. Give the family our love and enjoy the Boy.

When I first discovered your blog way back when, I was so impressed I went back and read every single one from the beginning. I am immeasurably sad that it's coming to an end because frankly, it's the only reason I read the American-Statesman. Please say you'll keep your faithful readers up on what's going on with the boy, with an occasional picture to let us see his handsome face. There are those of us who hope that you'll change your mind about blogging in the future because you have a gift for making us care about you and your family. In the meantime, good luck in your career and don't forget about us because we won't forget about you. Love to Shannon and the Boy.

Now you've got time for volleyballl...you've got my email...and thanks for sharing your life. It has been fun. Good luck.

Well, as one of the five who has been here since the start, I'll just say it's been a fun ride. And it's dang hard to concentrate on anything once you got a kid -- you got that right.

You still have a coffee table?! We put ours in storage after the first five stitches, but I guess that was too late.
Now, at 18 months, he finds new things to crash into...mostly his six-week-old sister!

My second boy walked at 18 months; EVERYTHING he does still takes longer than "normal." But he's also immensely curious and a verbal fiend. He talks ALL the time. I've learned to reject the social comparison thing. Let 'em exist at his own pace. The shoes are a great incentive...way to go.

And oh yeah: Happy late birthday! And good job on the dieting!

"All that extra weight makes you look at least 47."

Dude! That was rude! And hey, Dave isn't nearly as heavy as his twin brother: http://www.jamd.com/search?assettype=g&assetid=75980523&text=christian+cantwell

You old goat...better have that second kid quick; beer and volley ball? The kids (i'll bring mine too) can dig in the sand courts at Dick Nichols; don't Tom and Rob live in the area too? Hell, i'll buy YOU a lone star.

Dave T responds: Hey, thanks. I'm still too out of shape for volleyball -- but I've lost 15 pounds so far. We're getting there.

37? All that extra weight makes you look at least 47. You really have ballooned since you left San Angelo!

Dave T responds: Yeah, and I feel like 57. It must have been all that running from bar to bar in San Angelo that kept me in shape.

Happy Birthday, Dave!

Happy bday, Dave! We've missed you. Glad Willie finally brought it on home for you.

Happy Birthday, Dave. See you in August.

~Cindy

I enjoyed both parts of your ruminations; thanks for narking out staff number 139. I hope you complained too.

So the Boy has a solid understanding. He's still the cutest thing on two big feet I've ever seen.
