It’s your party
— The Alamo is offering discounts on private parties in June and July. We were lucky enough to attend one of these events back in May and still remember the heady rush of having the run of the theater with our loved ones. Of course, we still sat politely and quietly, but if we’d wanted to stand up and shout at Tom Cruise on the movie screen, we so could have. And that’s a beautiful thing.
— Kat Candler screens her short film “Roberta Wells” at the Dionysium tonight at 7:30 at Alamo South.
— This depresses us even more than the fact that someone stole our doormat last night.
— Oh, but wait. It gets worse. Check out the birth announcement for Woody Harrelson’s third daughter.
— “March of the Penguins” will make its TV debut on the Hallmark Channel. We’re slightly embarrassed for all of penguin-dom.
— Be your own projectinist.
— Why, despite so many cinematic sins, does Keanu Reeves still tug at our heart? Here’s how it breaks down mathematically? * 5 percent, “Point Break” * 15 percent, tragic events in his life * 20 percent, original “Matrix” * 60 percent, that time we saw in the lobby of the Four Seasons and he seemed really nice
— Jessica Alba also seems nice, but we doubt she knows what she’s talking about regarding the quality of the “Fantastic Four” sequel.
— Finally, for 6-6-6, Phoebe Cates makes a deal with the devil. for eternal youth.
