I am so angry at the 4 idiots that judge American Idol. How can they put through a guy with two names and two personas, and no talent, and send home the black boy with the outstanding voice? Can’t the producer step in when the 4 dumbos, with deaf ears, pull a stunt like this? I am not even going to watch this year.
Well, I must say after seeing the full story on the late-night newscast, I must agree. When I first read the story I did not see the word “logo” but after reading it again realize that indeed there is some merit to the lawsuit. I thought it was just the use of the word ‘idol’ that they were up in arms about.
Oh c’mon -Palazio definitely picked the wording, signs, -everything- to take advantage of American Idol’s popularity (and it has worked better than expected). That’s the chance you take (copying the AI “badge” was a bit too much).
But Palazio is a great club, I hope the lawsuit doesn’t amount to much! I’m sure they love the publicity!
Sorry about the typo…
Seriously, surely they (FremantleMedia) do not have a trademark…
I smell a bailout!
Seriously, surely they (FremantleMedia) does not have a trademark on the word ‘idol.’ How can they stop a business from using a common English word simply because it invokes familiarity with the show ‘American Idol?’
Ironically, Paula Abdul is playing on the radio as I type this message. Its an omen!
Thank goodness a dedicated column to (yawn) Idol has ended. Now if this product promotion machine called a TV show went off the air and removed some more clutter from the airwaves that would be even better.
That you for letting us post about our favorite singer. Without this site, it would be really difficult to share the latest news about them.

Might seem petty but lawsuits such as this are common to prevent problems with the American Idol brand. Family friendly and all that
What IS funny is how the club’s owner mentioned the “economic crisis”
I wonder what other sorts of things we can lump into the economic crisis

I am one of her backups (fans) and can truly say that not only is Melinda hugely talented but she is also exceptionally kind and gracious
It seems petty to me for a big operation like American Idol to sue a single strip club.
Great Photo!
I can understand that Paula might have some issues with someone killing herself outside of Paula’s house. That would freak out anyone. But Fantasia foreclosure - good! I guess now she will want a bailout. These people get opportunities of a lifetime and the first thing they do is buy huge ticket items and can’t afford it. I’ve heard better Karoeke singers. Go be with Studdard. And they dogged out Clay Aiken? I think he’s making paper, right?
My understanding is that Phil quit Lyric Street Records; not them dropping him. I, as well as other fans of his, believe that the label simply did not support him as well as they could have after his first single, especially with his second song, “Old Glory.” There was hardly any support for it and several radio stations said they didn’t have it. It is available now on iTunes. He said in a recent TV interview that he is doing a “Christian venture,” and he told a fan at one of his last appearances that he was releasing a Gospel album in the spring and will include a nice version of “Old Glory” on it. We haven’t heard the last of Phil. We trust that he will have a lot better support this time around. He does excel at singing Christian music, as he is a pastor’s son and grew up with that genre, as well as having been a worship minister at several churches.
she did a good job performing. I got to see her upclose. I wish there wasnt so many people there though. But it was still a fun night.
The Domain Tree Lighting was a disaster waiting to happen. The Domain was not prepared for the number of people that showed up to see Jordin Sparks - the sidewalks were so full that people could not move. People were pushing and shoving and loosing their tempers. We ended up making our escape after Dan Dyer sang. So disappointing. We really wanted to see Jordin Sparks but it just wasn’t worth it. We won’t attempt it next year - we will stay away for sure!
omgz, DIDS SHE TALK abotu how she ripped off teh Beyonc song irreplasabel with her song tatu? CUZ WE ALL KNOW she ttly did.
I think the critics are nuts. David’s debut CD is wonderfully done and will no doubt be a number 1 hit. I am a purist when it comes to musical talent and I think David has a true gift. His silky smooth voice and perfect pitch with subtle runs and inflections is mature beyond his years and exhibits extrordinary control and natural talent. I like every song on this CD, especially “Angels”. I also think David appeals to all ages as I am 46 yo and have 3 other male friends close to my age that like this music, along with my wife, and 3 teenage children. Great job David for a such a great work of art.
I agree. Its a good thing critics don’t buy the records. I love this album and every song on it, which is unusual for most of us to love all the songs. David’s voice is out of this world not matter what he sings. I am not a teen or tween, I am an adult, over 35 and I know lots more of us older folks will be buying his music, not just the young folks.
Good thing critics don’t buy the records, the fans do, and the public is going to purchase Archie’s debut CD in droves. Besides “Crush” there are, in my opinion, at least four or five certifiable hits here. This is one talented, and likeable, kid. David Archulea is going to be a big, big star, and deservedly so.
