State dinner for the heads of states
The Bush White House doesn’t trot out the official “state dinner” designation very often. But it did tonight for a big evening for attendees of the National Governors Association meeting.
Guest list, in addition to the governors (which means a nice assortment of potential vice presidential candidates) who are in town, included a few Cabinet members.
California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger brought his mother-in-law Eunice Kennedy Shriver.
Main course was Hudson River duck with port sauce. Warm caramel-orange torte and walnut ice cream for dessert.
After-dinner entertainment: Vince Gill and Amy Grant.
Bush meets Monday with NGA members. Monday evening, in what’s sure to be a more political speech, Bush speaks to the Republican Governors Association.
