Texas Democrat airs first ad in Senate race

State Rep. Rick Noriega of Houston, who’s trying to win the Democratic nomination to take on U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, will launch his first television spot during tonight’s Democratic debate. The ad will air in English on CNN and in Spanish on Univision, just like the debate.

The spot touts Noriega’s service in the military and the Texas Legislature. It does not mention his Democratic primary opponents or Cornyn.

Looks like Noriega still wants people to vote for him because he was in the National Guard. Did he really need to open the commercial with shot (no pun intended) of him in full uniform toting an M-16?
