McCaul’s would-be opponents hit the airwaves

A fresh round of television spots are up in the Democratic primary to see who will take on U.S. Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Austin.

First, Larry Joe Doherty runs a get-tough-on-lobbyists spot that does not mention Grant or McCaul. Here it is:

Grant’s spot, meanwhile, tries to create a contrast with Doherty. It mocks Doherty, who used to host a television courtroom show, for once appearing on Anna Nicole Smith’s “reality” program. Have a look:

Texas Democrat airs first ad in Senate race

State Rep. Rick Noriega of Houston, who’s trying to win the Democratic nomination to take on U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, will launch his first television spot during tonight’s Democratic debate. The ad will air in English on CNN and in Spanish on Univision, just like the debate.

The spot touts Noriega’s service in the military and the Texas Legislature. It does not mention his Democratic primary opponents or Cornyn.
