Texans (and others) for Thompson
The finance report filed by probable GOP presidential candidate Fred Thompson shows that Texas is second only to his home state of Tennessee as the biggest source of campaign cash so far.
Thompson’s report, filed with the IRS, covers only June and shows that Tennessee residents came up with $1.3 million of the $3.4 million he collected. Texas, where Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson is a Thompson supporter, pitched in with $337,000.
Florida was sixth with $149,000 and Georgia was seventh with $122,000.
