Steve McNair, former NFL MVP, dies (1973-2009)
Steve McNair, who was found shot and killed Saturday in Nashville, began his career in 1995 with the Houston Oilers, who eventually became the Titans, and finished with 31,304 yards passing and 174 touchdowns. McNair, who led the Titans to the Super Bowl after the 1999 season, played with pain for several years, and the injuries ultimately forced him to retire after the 2007 season. McNair was named co-MVP for the 2003 season and made the Pro Bowl four times.

Wow. This is unbelievable. McNair was probably the toughest player of his generation. He was a truly great player, and you’d never hear anything about him from anyone. It’s too bad he had all those injuries, but when he was in his prime, he could beat you throwing or running. Just a damn shame.
