I work in the north end of Jacksonville, where people are getting shot all the time, if not by their neighbors, then by the police, who seem to believe a gun should be shot 6 times if it is shot at all. If I had the money, I’d move to any country that limited guns.

I’m not sure if you’re supporting the pastor or making fun of him.

You missed the point of several of the bible passages in your attempt to retell them.

…can you say, resignation??

In my my mind, the time to leave your religious group is the moment when they start recommending stockpiling guns. (Think the Branch Davidians, etc.)

In my mind, if you enjoy shooting as a sport or as a last resort means of defending yourself, fine.

To mix it with religion? Over the the top!

Palm Beach Post is basically saying “we want to avoid comments that are obscene, hateful, racist or otherwise inappropriate (unless it has to do with Christians).

Palm Beach Post is basically saying “we want to avoid comments that are obscene, hateful, racist or otherwise inappropriate (unless it has to do with Christians). For example, an written about this topic would be bad: “Some Homo’s might have trouble reconciling queer life and guns. As a service to them on this Fourth of July, I offer these Second Amendment Gay Stories…”

Attempting to pass filth off as humor. I s**t on your face dirtbag and my Christian kindness is all that is keeping you from meeting Jesus. You will have your moment in eternity, fool.

So predictable.

Can’t you quasi-Euro secular lefties (VerDweeb, or whatever the H your name is) come up with anything better than ridiculing the very demographic who would, without doubt, lay down their lives to guarantee your constitutional right to do it?

And this, on “this text will be italic” Independence Day, “this text will not be italic” no less?

You, sir, are detestable.

Nothing will stop the abuse of a firearm faster than the understanding that the intended victims can shoot back.

I take it that you like your Christians weak and easy to slaughter.

I would say that this pastor has the right idea but you need to actually learn to understand scripture before you twist it.

Not only was this article blasphemous and mocking Jesus and (distortiing) the Holy Bible, but I believe that the Post has opened themselves up to an enormous legal liability. I pray that some mentally twisted person doesn’t do something irresponsible or illegal with a firearm as was clearly illustrated in this article.

I thought the article fell flat. Just another example of PC. I swear they don’t read their own stuff at the Post. As deputy editor Mr VerSteeg, your star has tarnished.

Luke 22:35 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

Jesus made it clear that a weapon for self defense was/is more important than clothing.

Mr. VerSteeg may be a writer, be he’s a pitiful researcher.

Well done Mr. VerSteeg!

My wife & children came into the kitchen to inquire “what is so funny in the newspaper”???

Thanks for starting my day off with a laugh. Some of us appreciate the occasional light-hearted, satirical perspective of topical news.

Whew! I think Wilder VerSteeg went a little over the top with this. (I edit a community magazine in our 600 home development and if we got a submission like this, I would have killed it with a polite phone call to its author.) If Wilder VerSteeg had written this kind of stuff about Mohammed, I am sure there would be a “fatwah” put out on him by an ayatollah somewhere, demanding his death. And if he had written it about the God of the Hebrews, the charges of latent anti-Semitism would start coming in. If I were a Christian, I would be offended by the column, as I expect your “Letters to the Editor” to shortly reflect.

Why won’t the palm beach post hire at least one right of center editorial witer? Does the post really think that readers identify with this type of childish, mind numbing trash?

another moronic and bigoted rant against christians by yet another lefty loon…the reason some church’s are allowing or even encouraging members to legally bring firearms are because loony left pagans have been storming previously unarmed churches and killing people as they worship…you probably never heard this because you rely on lefty rags for your “news”…God (the real one) allows us to defend ourselves and we will
