Did anyone else notice that Ole Mary didn’t have anything to be quoted in this article. Gee, I wonder if SHE begrudgingly voted to approve the ag development?

So long as the state allows these developers to create special districts, they will continue to by-pass the local development guidelines. That’s why the state allows special district to exist. Develop every last acre.

Calling Mr. Acosta, Mr. Acosta…here’s another case.

I guess the farmers did not pay any moneies to the politicians or our current county commissioners? The FBI put a burden on their project - why not have FBI at all project hearings???

What we have here is simply a literacy problem. Politicians and government staff involved in this deal do not know the meaning of “reserve” or “preserve” and similar terms.

Money talks! Another sad day. The term Agricultural Reserve has no meaning.

Beyond belief! What’s the point of having an Ag reserve? If the Commission is going to let those with money and political connections develop the area, they may as well extend the same rights to the farmers. ( or could it be that the farmers don’t contribute enough money to campaigns? )

As a native Floridian and a resident of Palm Beach County for over 20 years, I am sadden to see what the corrupted city officials have allowed to happen to our city. I am more amazed that they keep getting voted in (including the Mayor). Palm beach county was beautiful at one point with lots of open land, horses, cows etc. It is now a concrete jugle and they continue to build and build. The developers are the ones who win every time. The city officials as well who pocket the $$ or benefits by approving the land deals.
I moved 3 years ago because I could no longer deal with the concrete, traffic and congestion… the sad part is that it happens everywhere. I now live in Jacksonville and the same thing is happening here. They are destroying beautiful land to build, build, build..

Do anyone else remember that we all payed for this land!!!! This was not to be developed. The county and GL lucrative business partners at all of our expense. GL is building on preserve land off Okeechobee Blvd, will likely be granted increased density for land west of the Acerage, and now they get super sweet deals to build even more on lands that taxpayers payed to be preserved. Our county commissioners are all disgusting crooks and should all be removed from office immediately. Vile people who have ruined our county on disgusting decision at a time, or should I say one one corrupt desicion at a time. They do not care about you or me. They do not care about this county. We need these vile sellout removed now.

SFWMD says they are using the money for glades restoration humm talking out of both sides of their mouth again… the Ag Reserve was meant to be preserved and now they are going back on their original promise,,, and also we currently have a water shortage due to over building which they are in charge of dealing with and what do they do sell to a builder for more housing and people to use more water,,, All of these pbc government agencies are not going to be happy until pbc is all concrete like NYC.. just look at what a mess downtown WPB is now,, thanks to Frankel.. this place is a joke…

What AG reserve? It’s just a place that the lying board of county commissioners are selling to the highest bidder that lines their pocket. The voters told them no but what do they care. They do not have the nerve to tell a builder no. Callery Judge will be back soon with an approval also. AG Reserve = a place that will cost more because of the bribes involved.

PBC sells agricultural Reserve land to SFWM, they then sold that land to a developer (GL Homes) along with additional housing units.

SFWM has managed to destroy the water systems they are in charge of. Because of the drought SFWM has NOT been able to release water from Lake Okeechobee…guess what..counties are reporting that water is clearer, fish are re appearing.

They are imbeciles.

Stunned over this. Read this “3” times trying to figure out how builders can proceed in a set aside AG Reserve/Preserve land usage. Cannot believe this.

Absolutely disgusting! This is One of the most shocking things I have ever read regarding county allowing a development on set aside Ag Reserve. Unreal.

Gov. Crist signs a bill to throw millions of dollars a year into restoring the Everglades, Lake O’ and several rivers. Palm Beach county rolls over and lets big developers pave it over. We are just barely dodging the bullet in regards to running out of water partly due to over development in south east Florida.

At some point we absolutely must say BoldNO.

Once again, the commissioners are doing whats best for them. They all need to go back to school. Lets see, Hi prices and taxes for homes means no sales. More homes means LESS WATER and MORE PEOPLE. Commissioners PLEASE give us all a break from the overpopulation and over development. PLEASE.

Reluctantly ?

They’ll sell out to the developers to the last Commissioner.

Even a prison term doesn’t scare them. It’s unbelievable.

Do any of them have any conscience at all ?
