On Dec.8,2004 the South Florida Weapons of Mass Destruction paid Enrique Tomeu $212 MILLION plus his lawyer fees in what they called a friendly eminent domain deal.So please post at least get the numbers straight and how the raxpayers are truly being ripped off.The really funny thing is the abandoned pit was supposed to be donated to CERP for the everglades until Jeb appointed Henry Dean as head of SFWMD.On the day they did the ribbon cutting for the pits Who rode away together? Masilotti,Tomeu, and Shalloway all should in prison.THe way I figure the bribers are as guilty as the bribees.
This will ‘guarantee South Florida’s ability to nearly double it’s population”? Why in the name of God would anyone want that?
Please do not support any plan that would increase our population. We have reached a breaking point already… and who would benefit by having any more people… Make water resources very very expensive for any new developments like in the Denver area… in fact let people move to the Denver area and help save South Florida.
I thank GOD that I moved away from Florida(WPB) when I did along with my family. I only wish hat one massive hurricane would chase all the DAMM Yankees back to NY, CT, NJ, where they belong. There was once enough water for everyone until they started draining the wetlands for farms, sugarcane, housing developments. I remember when west of military trail and north of Southern Blved. there was nothing but swamp where we would hunt, fish, camp and play.
Development of sensitive lands is a curse that you will have to live with forever and have less and less water.
I have a better plan that Indiantown did in the early 70’s use the effluent from sewage and mix it with your drinking water. Yes, I worked on that plant.

Double the population is only a way to allow the politicos to double their grafr. How about double the Gridlock, crime, number of employees on the Govt payrolls and add to the broblems we already have. This is a big part of the reason people are leaving. Bye Bye.
The county commission is not that savvy when it comes to knowing about water. They need to do their homework.
No one should TRUST SFWM. They purchased agricultural land from PBC (bought with tax payers money for conservation)and turned around and sold the agricultural land to a DEVELOPER.
SFWM seems to be a conduit for developer to get their hands on prime property.
Right on Tim! Unfortunately the answer is “Most of the City and County Commissioners”, who benefit personally, and politically, from all the development. These folks couldn’t care less about the impact of their decisions. No wonder a recent survey showed that a third of Florida residents are thinking about leaving!
Hasn’t anyone with the Palm Beach Post seen the terrible harm these rock pits do? They drain ALL the surrounding water table, as evidenced by the thousands of dead pine trees in Wellington, Loxahatchee and Royal Palm Beach. The trees get so stressed by lack of water that the pine beetles move in for the kill. Then people say “such a shame, the beetles killed my trees. The pits also are taking the water meant for our natural watershed, meaning our drinking water. There is no “new” water to be found, and NONE being made. As geologists will tell you, we are using the same water the dinosaurs used. It just cycles through as the same water. The mines get to sell all that rock to use for concrete and roads, they give a nice cut to the state, and so the state says o.k. I say BULL$#!*!
Yes Tim, Palm Beach County is a crime ridden over crowded hell hole. The same corrupt official and their buddies that ruined PBC now are trying to tell us how they are going to fix this problem. What a joke! What a coincidence that the only County Commissioner commenting on this story about Palm Beach Aggregate’s, is the same County Commissioner that is under investigation for her involvement with Mr. Sam Klien, owner and partner of Enrique Tomeu and a $50,000 donation. Wake up folks…..This is just more of the good ole “Cover your _ _ _ from these corrupt slimey Commission and it’s just going to cost the good people of PBC millions more in water. Wake up and vote them out!!!!
All the wealthy retiring baby boomers are lining up to pay $200,000 for a 20 year old termite infested condo so they can drink sewer water in their liesure years.
