You use treated waste water and I’ll use good clean healthy fresh water, no matter what I have to do to get it. As long as I have a well I can always use it as my complete source of water for my home. I can set up a good purification system for my well water and continue to do what I have been doing for the past 20 yrs in Florida for my drinking water,,,buy it.I wont have to pay South Martin Regional Utilities owned and operated by that Jupiter Island Clan. You got some damm nerve thinking your going to give me process waste water and pay for it to boot! Good luck A*s h—l’s I’ll see you in jungle warfare first.

Now you really have “Trouble” on your hand’s

Why do the canals continue to release fresh water into the oceans ? If there is a drought, why can’t this be stopped ?

Has anyone looked at the canals and retention ponds around here. They are over flowing. Once again it just proves once the liberals take somthing away they have no plans of giving it back. Same old stuff not enough money, not enough water, not enough county employees.

What water shortage? If there was truly a shortage, SFWMD would not be releasing billions of gallons into the ocean. This whole mess is nothing but politics and pork!

There is a simple solution to wasting water on lawns dilemma. Set the cost of normal household water usage at a reasonable rate. Then use a progressive rate for excessive water usage such as swimming pools and big expansive lawns. This would spread the cost of water that is used for recreational and landscaping but retain water for household purposes at reasonable cost and limit most homeowners to lower usage for watering and other uses. Plus let’s limit the rate of growth. I am a native of WPB and feel like we live in Paradise Lost!!!!

SFWM has failed Southeast Florida.

Poor “man”agement in relations to Lake O has caused untold problems.

There is continued problems with friends, land purchases, and water theory. This misMANagement of fields for drainage, flushing, water release is antiquated.

The State needs to investigate this board and their shennanigans that have disturbed the environment.

I think the sfwmd is incompetant and should be held accountable for so. florida water problems, who was who lower the water level in the first place, didn’t they do the samething a number of years ago? I have zero confidents in the sfwmd, the org. should be revamped, get rid of the sugar cane, grove owners and the rich who think they know everything because they have money and put people in the job that want to do what is right for south florida.

Once again important information is omitted; SFWMD created the water shortage by draining the lake. But SFWMD will probably get what they set out for when releasing the lake water, year round control of our water usage. But what I do not understand, if SFWMD really wants to conserve water like indicated in the article, why to they continue to release water to the ocean on the daily basis. I feel there should be no water restrictions in place as long as SFWMD continues to release water.

Sounds like a proactive step in the right direction to me. And, as Bill stated, more guidelines should be established as well.

If water managers and local governments are going to recognize a finite supply of water year-around, they should all extend this recognition to all of their development planning procedures.
If, as is apparent, Florida has a finite supply of water, residential and commercial development should be restricted accordingly.
