The Post’s article titled “Rec Center’s rap Contest…” published on saturday backs up my earlier post on gangs. A 9 yr old out at 9pm at a rap concert? The quote “they turn to music and entertainment instead of the their families, IF THEY HAVE A FAMILY. And because of the organizer’ look she gains the audience’s respect (and again I quote the Post) the hair, jewerly and gold teeth. Time to start accepting the facts stated by the community itself.

The WPB Chief does not think a grand jury it will help? Boy is she bright. Intervention and midnight basketball is the answer to the gang problem. That always helps to stop the drive-by’s right? Check the records and let’s see how that’s worked during her time as chief. The kids in WPB have things to do at night, go to CityPlace and rob people or go to gang concerts sponsored by off duty cops. She is an embarrassment.

Stop throwing money to these “programs” that “help” youth (and also employ alot of people, who “live” off of these jobs…All they do is sit around and talk to each other, not even paying attention to the kids…that’s the problem in the first place!).

Make parents RESPONSIBLE for their children’s illegal activities. Have the parents foot the bill for the theft of property and vehicles. Soon those parents will become PARENTS instead of wimps, who worry that they may injure their child’s self esteem OR the parents will GROW UP and stop their CHILDISH Behavior.

Suffer the consequences of your actions parents. Control your children.

Give secrecy to informants; prosecute fully, give a full sentence (if we need jail cells…put the criminal in tents, have them wear pink striped uniforms…let them stick out in society. It is that psychological aspect of not “hurting the feelings” of children that has come to destroy these families and affected our society.

How to limit the effects of gangs? Define who makes up gangs: minorities. It is no coincedence that gang activity has increased as more illegal and 3rd world immigrants (Haiti) pour into our state. Stop this immigration and gangs will diminish. And in terms of the African-American gangs, they are just another example of how poorly blacks raise their families (as is the case with all the races where gangs are prevalent). People, the longer we hide behind political correctness and cower under the idea of being called a “racist” our society is going to become more 3rd world, where violence is common place. Tighten the borders, limit immigration and put and end to the cycle of black babies having black babies that are basically raised on the street and I gurantee gang populations and gang violence decrease.

I believe the best approach to combat this situation would be a re-evaluation of the florida state statutes which list each crime individually and assigns the mandatory sentencing for each crime that fits the statute along with it’s subjsection. IN short, how about throwing the bad guys in prison and keeping them there? If it’s a matter of overcrowded prisons, then do what the state of Texas does and make an outdoor work camp for the prisoners which cuts costs all around and brings back the feeling of truly being in prison. This will make these kids and adults think twice about ever committing a crime in the first place. In case anyone hasn’t realized, what we are doing obviously doesn’t work if it’s only getting worse. You cannot combat gang violence when they think it’s fun. Throwing a kid a ball and making him play video games in a community shelter doesn’t work that well either. Those in the gangs are driving past these community shelters while the poor society are dropping their kids off at these locations in leau of paying for daycare.
