Bring back Teresa Lepore - she got a raw deal anyway, but on her absolute worst day she was 1000 times better than this fool, Anderson. The PhD after his name must stand for PhoneyhucksterDimwit. Remember this when Wexler and Anderson are up for election again!
When elected officials don’t know the content of their budgets how can they certify the request? This really demonstrates how well public funds are controlled and how much thought is put into a budget. Gov.Crist is right, local gov. has many areas to cut spending without cutting police on the streets and fire fighting personnel. The public deserves much better.
When they put this guy into this position they knew he had no experience in dealing with voting issues. Why is anyone surprised that he is constantly screwing things up? It is time for a replacement that has experience and less zeal for public attention.
I think the current touchscreen voting machines do support write-in votes (the manufacturers like to add every bell and whistle in order to drive the cost as high as possible so when they get a county with an unlimited budget like PBC they’ll make a killing), but probably Arthur Anderson’s poll workers didn’t catch the training for that “advanced” feature so they just told you something to make you go away.
Just another reason the touchscreens need to go. Presumably you’ll be able to write in a candidate on the optical ballot next to the other candidates, and the scanner will notice the write-in and process it specially.
Yes…to the person who said three cheers for Affirmative action….we pretty much are a Congo Republic now……..except here the NON_AFFIRMATIVE action read…..Evil White Man crowd is just as bad as the Natives in R. Beach…
This guy wouldn’t know a paper trail from a wagon trail. Palm Beach County is the only place I ever lived where I ever even heard of the Elections Commissioner. They should be like umpires; do you job and nobody knows who you are. I assume he’ll get re-elected in a landslide.

I guess this screw up qualifies him to join the county commission with Adie Slush Fund Green or the School Board with Art the Overpaid Eminent Domain Johnson
JohnB Lets be fair about this..
Both Democrats and Republicans are slime balls now days.. None of them care about the average person. Specials interests are too deep in government.
Time to make Special Interests Illegal. Time to demand that all People running for office have to get Public Funding. No More Corporate Funding, It is ruining our Country….
Yes….and the worst is…this was a fluke it got caught ASSUME ALL GOVT BIDS are like this…we should slash entire GOVT BUDGET 80% and they could make do no problem…SO MUCH FAT and CORRUPTION AND NO ACCOUNTABILITY, PLEASE PUT SOME OF THESE DOLTS IN JAIL FOR MORE THAN A FEW MONTHS!
If their admitting to 3X the cost it’s probably closer to 6X the cost. Nothings gonna happen to AA or Wexler! Their democrats. Democrat in PBC = License to steal.
Last November I wanted to vote against Wexler. But you couldn’t even vote for the congressional seat.
I was told by poll workers that he was running “unopposed” And because he was running “unopposed” that he didn’t have to be elected. He was ALREADY in.
I was told that I couldn’t even write in a name.
He was running unopposed so he didn’t have to be elected and I couldn’t vote for anyone else
Its not a MACHINE PROBLEM OR A BALLOT problem….we have a PEOPLE problem…we have incompentent and corrupt representation…..FIRST FIRE ANDERSON NOW….second fire all the rest of the PBC govt leadership, its consultants and attorneys? WHY HAS NOT MASILOTTI BEEN SENTENCED YET…WHAT HAPPENED TO BOOSE PB POST….I bet if you chekc you will see they DROPPED ALL CHARGES? RIGHT! CORRUPT CORRUPT CORRUPT OFFICIALS TOP TO BOTTOM
Anderson remember wrestled control of the Supervisor of Election’s BUDGET. He didn’t like supplying receipts or having questions asked about costs.
This is a GOOD example why he SHOULD NOT BE IN CONTROL of the budget. He is inept!@
Wexler is a disappointment. His selection of Anderson was a mistake. Wexler exploited a political issue and ushered in an incompetent individual. Anderson couldn’t even manage his OWN personal funds and got into tax problems. Someone paid off his debt so he could “run” for the Supervisor of Elections.
Palm Beach County citizens it was a mistake to elect Anderson.
If you are worried about your taxes…this man inflated his budget to garner more money for his department.
Get rid of Anderson and Waxler for bringing Anderson in. He must have picked a $$$ out of the air. He’s incompetant and Waxler should be held accountable for his backing Anderson
Look to the state of Oregon where there’e one choice.
Vote VIA U.S. Mail.
In 1998 Oregon voters passed a ballot measure directing all elections to be conducted by mail, commonly called Vote By Mail. Instead of using traditional polling places where voters go to cast ballots on election day, a ballot is mailed to each registered voter. The ballot is then returned to the county elections office and is counted on election day.
No Machines or scanners and the Oregon system is cheap and easy.
Addie Greene and Arthur Anderson…Govt Leaders in Palm Beach County….what a team…..we may as well move to the CONGO with all the corrupt incompetence in this county….and ABSOLUTELY no Commissioner will call for Anderson’s dismissal? Heck….Mr. Kooons…if they 2 million dollars too much for cans over at PEPSI, a private company, the CFO would be fired immedietely for incompetency…and rightly so……in PBC the weak cover for the weak and corrupt, and Anderson just LOAFS along…business as usual or resigns with a pension……THIS IS INSANITY!!
C’mon now, this guy now blows smoke up the asses of the commissioners themselves, and causes them to lip off and get angry at the governor?
This is beyond incompetence, it’s unprofessional and misleading as well as calling for a major reprimand if not call for a probationary scolding…oh wait, the county no longer uses performance evaluations.
I’m sure that Wyoming does a better job in keeping it’s costs lower than down here, but this is no insult to Wyoming (I’ve been there, it’s beautiful), but I don’t think it’s fair to compare the costs between Wyoming and palm beach county. The entire State of Wyoming has a population that’s half of Palm Beach County’s.
Isn’t it great that Bobbie Wexler pushed this total incompetent as elections supervisor. Next election when he loses all the votes and PBC doesn’t count I hope the liberals thank Wexler. Without PBC votes Wexler just gave Florida to the republicans.
Lepores problem was that she was catholic and Wexler. Wexler has a hstory of anti catholic remarks, a well.
Competence never entered the equation. As for the butterfly ballot that was never a concern until Wexlers horse lost the race. The ballots were distributed months before the election so that people and most notably Wexler could reject them. He failed to do so. At the time there were many candidates for Pres which left spae limitations therefore the butterfly ballot. Was not the most difficult to read just an excuse.
Did Arthur Anderson get his Ph.D. from correspondence school?
I know one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles did the same thing so maybe it’s ok—just not for running the Supervisor of Elections office.
Here’s another point:
Since most of the people who read and comment on the Palm Beach Post are voters, you should know: DO NOT EVER VOTE FOR LAURENCE DAVENPORT TO ANY PUBLIC OFFICE.
He is a shill for Sequoia. Sequoia is owned by Venezuela. Venezuela is owned by Chavez.
And the printer was in CA…of course they knew this was GROSSLY inflated just like every single GOVT LINE ITEM in PBC Govt….show this to the Palm Beach Commissioners and to Mayor Frankel next time they whine about cutting services and we should also get a tax cut of AT LEAST 50%……..THESE PEOPLE ARE BLOATED LAZY UNETHICAL FOOLS AT THE HELM OF OUR GOVT…..WE NEED NOT TALK ABOUT IT LONGER……….unless its action being discussed.
Anderson needs to resign…completely incompetent! This resistance to do the will of the people and governor is unacceptable. How hard is it to print a piece of paper - a receipt? We get these every time we shop - and have for over 100 years…and yet these seems so “impossible” to them…it really makes one believe that voting is completely rigged in this county, and parties much more powerful than us want to keep it that way. Very worrisome…democracy is dead and we do not know it…at least people in Iraq can vote and have free health care, thanks to our Prez! But not here…
So not only does he not keep his campaign promise of making sure the electronic voting machines give a paper record, but he’s managed to screw up budgets and other elections.
This guy is a joke. He shouldn’t get another term. Shame on Wexler for supporting this guy for office.
Here we go again !
When is Wexler’s puppet up for reelection? The soon the better !
And on top of this financial goof this clown does his own budget/accounting!!!
OOPS, MY BAD
I think that should be Arthur Anderson’s next campaign slogan.
Every time he opens his mouth or does anything, he always end up saying “OOPS, MY BAD”
Arthur Anderson has proven to the taxpayers that he is an incompetent person for the job. Theresa LaPore ran that office for years without the problems that this guy has had in a few years. The Democrats apparently wanted to show the world that they could put a person who was and is unqualified in office because they could not be bothered reading a ballot. Certainly even they could have found someone with the qualifications for the job.
Getting the numbers right the first time, before making any announcements, is the essence of budget making and counting votes. I am not encouraged.
I am a part-time resident of Palm Beach County but vote in Wyoming where we have been using optical scanners for years. Our privacy booths are ” collapsible cardboard carrels” that are set on tables. We have privacy envelopes (reusable) and I am sure they don’t cost $7000.00 We even get to sit down to mark our ballots. Several people are marking ballots at the same time and the scan takes only seconds.
The system works well.
Our county officials take pride in efficiency and keeping costs low. They are public servants not empire builders. Even so my property taxes are going up. Mine were $252.00 last year but I only have 5 acres. with two houses.
I’ll grant you there are some wonderful amenities in south Florida, but we have all the basics, water management districts, great schools, good teachers, garbage collection, streets, parks, and arenas-even indoor plumbing.
We have our share of poverty and programs to help. I love visiting Florida. When the temperatures here go south, so do I, but I do respect the efficiency of our local government.
Why Is everything with Arthur Anderson always such a mess? Everyone was so quick to blame Theresa Lepore when she ran the office, but except for the butterfly ballots, I don’t remember her cause much of a stir. Everything with Arthur is a fiasco. And he claimed he was going to fix all the problems, but he has been one disaster after another. This is just another example of his incompetence. It’s time to let the old guard back into the gatehouse or get someone new. Enough is enough. Can we have at least on election without a hitch?
