I am so sorry to hear that Rag Shop is going out of business. It was the place that I would go for “mommy time” usually to spend money on the kids, nevertheless it was “my time” and it was a great switch from using McDonald’s ice cream sundaes for “mommy time”. I enjoyed myself at Rag Shop and managed to sever whatever shape that I have left…..

DJM Realty is disposing of the Rag Shop properties. If anyone is interested in the locations, please visit www.djmrealty.com or email me at bbellask@djmrealty.com
A good alternative is Scrapbooking Depot, which is in Sunrise, Florida. Rhonda, the owner, is a wealth of knowledge, her classes and crops are awesome, and her selection is second to none!
I for one hope that Crafts & Stuff IS NOT the NEXT to go. Their customer service goes far beyond Michael’s and Rag Shop and as an avid scrapbooker, I was thrillled when they announced 10% off all thier albums everyday! Now I KNOW I can walk in there any day of the week and purchase a really fancy scrapbook album for UNDER $20. And besides that, every coupon I have ever gotten frm them said right on it that it could not be used on everyday value items like the albums. Crafts & Stuff has even taken my Rag Shop coupons when Rag Shop didn’t have what I needed. And did I mention… Their people are the best! Some of them even greet me by name when I come in!
The craft stores have become too much like dollar stores. If they would concentrate on true crafts and keep up with the latest fads and not sell all the junk like stuffed animals, garden supplies, chairs, etc. they would probably do better. I think Crafts and Stuff is next to go. Too much crap in there for me. I had a problem with them a few weeks ago. They had a 60% off one item coupon in the paper. Drove all the way to the store. Was really impressed with their scrapbook section, picked out a scrapbook I wanted, when I got to the register they said the coupon wasn’t good on the book because it was not good on sale items and all their scrapbooks were marked 10% off everyday. I questioned how that could be a sale if that was the price everyday. The asst. manager who looked to be about 18 said that the way it was. Needless to say, I’ll never step foot in there again. Bad customer handling. I’ve starting shopping the specific stores, quilt shops, scrapbook store, etc. Might pay a little more, but don’t have to weed through the junk and the employees are at least knowledgeable.
Sorry to see Rag Shop go. It’s sad when companies are bought and sold like postage stamps by investment companies. There’s absolutely no loyalty. But, that’s what makes capitalism work.
I called everyone I knew and let them know! I love the RagShops! I did all my craft shopping there! There aren’t any good craft stores anymore! What are we going to do?

What are we going to do without the rag shop? Seems like all the craft stores are going out of business. This really sucks.

Just another fine example of high taxes and insurance. The Governor must be proud.
