most, if not all, retailers that i do business with already charge Fl sales tax; i can only assume that they also file and pay these taxes to the State of Florida

Let’s get real folks. Let’s say that this law passes. First of all, how many retailers have the time to file 49 MORE tax statements each month? That would take so much time, it would put most small retailers out of business. Then let’s think logically. I think many, if not most, retailers would pocket the tax money and get rich off it. And why not? Just how many of the 49 states are going to send tax reps to the retailers around the country to audit their books? None! That would be cost prohibitive! So you see, this deal is a no deal. It’s stupid and ignorant and just another way to filibuster other things into law that our greedy politicians want by making America focus on this issue and overlook the other things they pass hidden in this agenda.

The heck with all these crazy taxes! WE ARE DROWNING IN TOO MANY GOVT OFFICIALS AND SERVICES AT EVERY TURN!!!!! GIVE THE PEOPLE A CHANCE AND SOME FREEDOM….EVERYONE KNOWS……every $1 given to the govt. is about 60% stolen and 30% wasted….so we should actually CUT GOVT Spending 90% and see no reduction in SO CALLED “services”!

I think we should call it the “Red State Tax”…..named after all those wonderful people who gave us the Bush Presidency, and a half trillion dollar disaster in Iraq. Half a trillion. With a “T”.

At least my conservative friends can’t lecture me about government spending for, ohhhhh, about 5 decades. So that’s a small relief.

I am shocked and disgusted by the “quick, creative and safe” solution to the water crisis! why was Mayor Frankel “blindsided?” does she have a water m/m team or not. As a senior with a comprised immune system I am outraged. Many of my friends have been ill with an unknown virus and one can’t help but wonder if a BOIL order should have been given. Please keep up the good work and report all of these occurences- particularly your expose of the three water managers who flagrantly ignored the restrictions on useage. THANK YOU>

This is an example of elected officials illogic.

First, Enzi makes no consideration of the cost of government. If I sell more stationery and envelopes how does that “increase” the expeditures of government? It doesn’t!! So why am I giving the government more money?

Lost revenues!! How can you lose something you’ve never had. This guy believes the government is entitled to increasing revenues on the commerce of the country without presenting a budget and need by the government.

We’re fools to keep paying taxes without elected officials presenting and demonstrating the necessity of expeditures.

Wouldn’t it be great if our pay checks automatically increased when the general commerce increases?

Smaller and more efficient government is what Enzi should be talking about!!!

You can’t tax goods in transit. But you can tax goods at their final stop or to provide for required inspections.

When they start taxing internet sales, there will be millions of more criminals.

The “”HUBRIS”” of these people just blows my mind..[what’s left of it].. THE U.S. CONSTITUTION “”SPECIFICIALLY”” says you cannot tax inter-state commerce!!!!

As a casual observation on my part….I would say the Constitution is NOT a constraint on any politician…PERIOD

There was never a tax the government didn’t like, and people get pissed when the words “tax cuts” are mentioned, for some reason people don’t like keeping (or spending) what they earn, they feel it should be given to the government.

Here we go again, government reaching out to grab, grab, grab every last cent they can muster to spend, spend, spend like usual. They tax you as you earn it and tax you again when you spend it. Bet they can’t wait to enact that tax, the sooner they do it more money to spend right away. Maybe they should start putting some of it back into SSA (NOT SSI!!!) so us people who paid into the system will get something back!
