About two years ago I brought the writer’s attention to the fact that Carol’s husband John was knee deep in the consultant issue. I guess it took this long for anyone to begin how deep the corruption runs. A lot of individuals have made a good deal of profit with the people’s dollars that should have gone to realistic work to restore the everglades. Excuses and delays are what we have gotten for our tax dollars.

The District needs to get a NEW Executive Director. Wehle and her friends and family plan is corrupt. Dont be fooled, this has been going on for YEARS!. Now that they are CAUGHT! all of a sudden its ooopps, then they get their agency paid attorneys to excuse thier actions. These attoneys should be disbarred and carted of for collusion and imcompetence like convicted PBC comissioner Mazaloti’s attorney pal Booze. These people have all sorts of crooked things happening from the far past. What is this new board waiting on, GET A NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR!. How much of a clue do you need!!!

The District used to have more employees than it does now. Jeb ordered cuts in staff and told them, and all other state agencies, to start out sourcing work to private firms. Now there are almost as many contractors working for the District as there are regular employees. There are even contractors filling supervisors positions, which is not supposed to happen.

Why does SFWMD need so many consultants?

Aren’t the folks at SFWMD smart enough to do their jobs? …or do they just want to isolate themselves from responsibilty for any decisions?

All of you that are saying that this is county related need to read the article again. This is not county property tax money, this money is out of the state budget. And it doesn’t all go to one firm; there are at least 70 firms that will get parts of this over three years.

The Feds should be examining SFWM.

There should be an OUTSIDE lawyer (not employed by SFWM)to examine ethical problems, not a SFWM lawyer.

This is a good ole boy system. The FEDs should examine the land dealings that SFWM has completed.

PBC sold land in the agriculture area to SFWM. SFWM then turned around and sold that land in the agricultural area to a developer!! SFWM says oh, we’re looking to buy land elsewhere for conservation. WELL, how about keeping any land bought as conservation. Since when is SFWM in the profit making business? These land deals should NOT be taking place. Try “man”aging the water. You guys drained the lake, Mother Nature didn’t.

These land switches sound corrupt to me.

What an easy way to develop property when it goes from the county, to SFWM, and then to a developer.

Instead of water, water everywhere…it’s corruption, corruption, everywhere.

Ineptness, ineptness, everywhere.

Yeah and the PBC Schooboard spent millions on some softward, I think PeopleSoft or something that did not work right either….it was supposed to improve Payroll……well payroll was apparently fine until they spent millions on this software that did not work…..DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW THE SPELL KICK BACK? Is it possible that Kick Back’s are involved in these 350 million dollars in consultant contracts…..the attys appear to hide it and PASS everything through “ETHICAL REVIEWS” but does anyone think for one second these GOVT PAYOUTS ARE NOT FILTHY ROTTEN DIRTY? Bill Boose and Mazilotti allegedly worked together for years to Screw taxpayers to the hilt and WARP development in PBC…..Some of these people need to be indicted and SOON…and NOT GIVEN A SLAP ON THE WRIST….and what about TONY’s sentencing, is not that this month? Will he get off light!!

The elder Lindahl and others at the district insist they are honest people who have followed all ethical requirements.

Even so, newly appointed board Chairman Eric Buermann has asked an outside law firm to examine the vacation-home issue

Great question Mr. Allen…Where is the FBI! This is so easy to figure out. All the same corrupt pieces of garbage that have been running and have destroyed this county for over 20 years are still getting away with their good ole game. One would have to start wondering if perhaps now even the Fed’s got fingers in the cookie jar, considering they seem to not busting these crooks. Passed ethical scrutiny? No such thing in PB County politics and business dealings. This place is as corrupt as New Orleans. The only difference is N.O. doesn’t try and hide it.The only thing worse than a politician is a bureaucrat, and PB County sure does have its share.
