I received a ticket in May. My timer was off by oneday and I accepted it and fixed the timer. The Ticket was for $83.00. Then 3 days later I get some a*****e showing up at my door to give me a ticket for the same day as before but for $258.00. They had my address correct but the wrong name and it was “timed” one hour later than the first ticket. Then a week later these f’ing dumbasses send me a certified letter for the same day as the first and timed one hour later than the second ticket. Now this one has my name correct but the address was 3 houses down on another street. I have taken this up with The Uber Republic of Wellington and told them that this was harrassment!!

I literally have not had my sprinklers on since the first week in May. Thanks to the rain my yard is surviving. I just just see these Zimmerman’s little Nazi pricks citing for having dead grass. I hate South Florida and can’t wait for my daughter to graduate HS so I can leave Palm Beach County’s new up and coming ‘hood’.

I live in wellington , I half to say about time I have seen so many people not doing there part in saving water, just today sunday early afternoon binks was watering in plan view like they don’t care who see them ,I have also seen people washing there cars three times a week and they don’t care , so I hope that the village keeps up with there work and follows up on all calls made to them , we all half to do our part in saving our water. I see that there are people that just don’t care about the laws the are in place . thanks

water is not an endless resource. perhaps, we need to begin making water restrictions mandatory rain or no rain from here on out to protect our future generations. GO GREEN! americans are spoiled, abusive and need to be educated about what other parts of the world are facing i.e., no water. a large city in Australia will be out of water in 13 months! we think we are a sophisticated society but perhaps a better term would be self-indulgent, self-centered and in denial. americans think as long as we have money, resources are endless and other countries “get this” about us and are taking advantage of our ignorance. the media needs to take “an in your face approach” about conservation and going green in- stead of wasting our airwaves on one of the biggest offenders, paris hilton and the like.

As long as the rules are clear, they should be properly enforced. The thing that scares me is in my neighborhood there is no enforcement, and the HOA and various politically connected people water all they want. So, I could be fined for not being able to keep the appearance of my property up to the “standards” of those who willfully break the law, since I respect the one day per week watering limit. The laws and codes giving HOA’s authority to require illegal behavior need to be removed from the state and city books.

The over-zealous enforcement, relative to what all other municipalities are obviously doing, is a direct result of the abysmally poor leadership of Village Manager Charlie (I-Don’t-Call-Citizens-Back) Lynn, Community Services Director Paul (I-Never-Return-Calls) Schofield and Code Enforcement Supervisor Rosemarie(Clueless and Just Following Orders)Taliau. In one instance a resident of a gated, zero-lot line community received a citation for a wet sidewalk - no sprinkler observed operating mind you, just a wet sidewalk. His sprinkler wasn’t observed being on during the restricted hours because, drumroll please, it actually is his neighbor’s sprinkler. I question the leadership and the intentions of these three so-called administrators if this is how they believe public service should be conducted.

If they can’t follow the rules, then they suffer the consequences.

What’s the deal?

Continue to enforce the rules.

I live off of Grapeview on the north side of the Acreage and 2 people on my dirt road, 97th Road North, have green golf course lawns, been cheating every week. I called the hotline a few times and the person who answered didn’t seem to know who would actually come out and when. Apparently they have to catch them in the act and they always water very early in the morning. I also left messages on weekends when noone was at the hotline. Last weekend their voice mail box was full. No inforcement officers have come out because these 2 irresponsible neighbors still water whenever they please. It’s sad because one of them lives next to a cop and he obviously does not care. It’s 6:55 am on Sunday, June 10th and they are watering now!!
