How heartless of you to not allow the team to raise funds to meet their soccer dreams…!Working for something in life teaches children VALUES.. this one should’ve been a NO BRAINER!!! C’mon Council!!!

As the saying goes, “It takes ” a Village ” to raise a child. What is wrong with our elected official? Do they also support no prayer in school and no pledge of allegance to our flag? What is more precious in our lives than raising our children to be good citizens and learn to support their local community? Is this how we teach this lesson to them? Shame! Shame!

Maybe someone should ask the council members why the Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce got special treatment. It is terrible that council members don’t worry about setting precedents when it is one of their own interests. If they got a council members child or grandchild on the team it would be a different story!

SHAME ON YOU WELLINGTON COUNCIL!! you are setting the “bad precedent”! all this boys are doing is setting a good example to follow, they belong to the WELLINGTON Soccer Club, remember? they are YOUR PEOPLE, they are putting your name on the map, you should be proud of them and show them a little support! they are not asking for a freebie, they’re not whining (like somebody said), they are willing to work very hard to achieve a dream…that’s all

Stop whining. These adults are exhibiting poor behavior. Go in front of the council and protest. Show the kids the PROPER way to argue a point instead of whining.

Can Wellington do ANYTHING else to make the town less appealing?

I would never even consider living in that town.

I have friends that live there and have recieved parking tickets because the bumper of their car crosses the line between their driveway and the sidewalk. We are talking about 2 inches.

Just insane.

No way for Wellington World

Allow the kids to have a yard sale!!! At least they’re willing to work for the money instead of just begging in front of Publix. They can come to the corner of Seminole Pratt and Okeechobee- There’s always yard sales there. Good luck guys— I hope you make it!

Absolutely, they should allow them to do their fundraiser. This is a very important upcoming event for these kids and they are working very hard to get there. Due to water restrictions, they are unable to hold carwashes like they normally would. I don’t understand why they think it would set a bad precedent. One’s own community supporting our local team???? That would be awful!!!

The worst thing to happen to Wellington was incorporation. Now we have our public policy being dictacted to us by a bunch of power hungry ex-new yorkers. I remember when it was a family friendly community and something like this would never, ever happen.

I believe that if the village of Wellington does not want to come up with the money to sponsor them, then they should be allowed to have the fundraiser on public property. After all they are representing Wellington soccor right?
