"Rock Star:" Now, you get rid Zayra?

I'm not complaining about the long overdue booting of gorgeous kooky bird Zayra Alvarez, who everyone, including my cat, knew had no shot of winning "Rock Star: Supernova." It's been clear since the second show that her Latina Bjorkisms and performance art tendencies were not right for our band Supernova, whose artsy moments likely begin and end with Tommy Lee's tattoos.

But it's ironic that Tommy, Gilby Clarke and Jason Newsted waited until this week, a week she was actually great, to get rid of her, while much more talented singers went home. On Tuesday, she distinguished herself by singing one of her original compositions, an opportunity none of those other moron contestants wanted to touch. It was weird - in being herself, singing gorgeously in Spanish, she proved both that she's talented, and that she's absolutely wrong for the group.

So it's OK that she's gone, but I'm still smarting that last week, they got rid of two rockers in one fell boot (including my lovely soulful Josh) and she wasn't one of them! Why didn't they boot her for her irritating Bowie/Captain Fantastic imitation on "All The Young Dudes?" I guess she'd exceeded her worth as the comic relief the show never really needed as long as Brooke Burke's involved.

She wasn't voted in the bottom 3 the week she sang David Bowie's "All the young dudes." That week she started out in the bottom 3, but the final count didn't have Zayra in the bottom 3, that week. It had Josh, Jill and Ryan (for his weird Paint it Black performance).

You're right! And as much as I am now loving Ryan, I admit that Goth wiggy act was...weird.
