South Florida home prices last again in Case-Shiller index

The Florida Association of Realtors’ most recent numbers showed signs of a recovery. But the latest figures from the Standard & Poor’s/Case-Shiller Index aren’t so optimistic.

According to the index, prices in Miami — which it defines as Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties — fell 19.3 percent from January 2007 to January 2008. The Case-Shiller Index looks at the nation’s 20 largest metro areas. South Florida tied for last place with Las Vegas, also down 19.3 percent.

Last place is first in my book! With real estate prices so low, I must generate more sales by offering luxury units on the Chiz-neap! Seriously folks, if 6 brownies can afford a 2 bedroom 2 bath in the Strand, so can you! May you be a Guat, Hatian, or even Puerto Rican, I can make it rain! I will provide the shelter necessary to ride out a Category 5 storm in the clubhouse shooting pool and drinking budweiser with dozens of your best amigos. juepppa!
