Skyscrapers in Clewiston?

In 50 years, rural Hendry County will look as suburbanized as Wellington and Port St. Lucie. That’s according to a study released today by 1000 Friends of Florida.

The study predicts “an almost continuous urban strip extending from eastern Fort Myers to West Palm Beach.”

Of the state’s 67 counties, 1000 Friends predicts Glades, Hardee, DeSoto and Hendry will change the most. Glades and Hardee will have at least 14 times as much urban development as they do now, the study says.

Hendry County, home of Clewiston, borders Palm Beach County’s western edge. Hendry is best known as headquarters of U.S. Sugar. It’s also perennially suffers from the state’s highest unemployment rate.

You think Mike Fink might wait out the 50 years before he decides to buy there?

You think all the “half-back” kids and grandkids might leave the Carolinas and move here?

Remember who told you first about buying into this area. At least you will be investing for your grandkids.

Gee, maybe jeff O. will own his own newspaper by then. He can call it the “Big O” Monthly News Report.

Jeff hates me. He knows that i am right on what i say.

Mike Fink is probably number one on the waiting list to rent the first available furnished model home after the first cluster of homes have been purchased by my future grandchildren. Doubtful though that he’ll still be able to qualify on the rental application. No assets, fixed social security income, exhausted medicare benefits.

Hendry county’s problem is not unemployment it is the drug dealers and pot growers and public money re-directers. These people all have jobs dealing dope. The poor thing is an excuse. Just look at the crooked officials runing the Central County Water Control District in Montura. One lady is a former Marijuana house owner and a perjurer. She is not in jail because of protection by someone with power.
