Many White Democrats Prejudice Against Blacks

racism.jpg
For those who say race is no longer an issue in America and say this blog shouldn’t exist, I give you an Associated Press-Yahoo study that says white Democratic racism may cause 2.5 percent of voters to not vote for Barack Obama because of his RACE.

A story on politico.com says that percentage is roughly the margin of President Bush’s victory over John F. Kerry in 2004.

The study found that one-third of white Democrats harbor negative views of black people, calling them “lazy,” “violent” and responsible for their own troubles.

This is the party of most black registered voters!

“There are a lot fewer bigots than there were 50 years ago, but that doesn’t mean there’s only a few bigots,” Stanford political scientist Paul Sniderman, who helped analyze the survey, told the Associated Press.

The study found that race is not the biggest factor driving Democrats and independents away from Obama. Many have doubts about his competency.

But statistical models derived from the poll suggest that Obama’s support would be as much as 6 percentage points higher if there were no white racial prejudice.

America has come a long way, but still has a very long way to go.

And until we talk about race - honestly and without political correctness, we won’t get there.

I agree with the information in this blog. But would be interested in seeing the reverse. How many African Americans are going to vote for Obama just because he is black. Not because of where he stands on the issues. Report on that please.

Sorry but you are so wrong. No one is thinking of race in connection with OBAMA. What they are thinking is the terrible circle of friends he has. William Ayers, the Mad Bomber. Rev. Jer Wright, the racist minister Rev. Pfleger, a nut priest who ‘hates’ Ali Kalheid, who had to leave U.S. Frank Davis of his childhood, Marxist.

It seems as if Sen. OBAMA doesn’t care about his own name or the people of the USA

If we were racist he never would have gotten this far. He got this far because we had faith in him but he practically told us to shut up, he’d be friends with who he wanted.

I think a better question would be, “How many black voters have supported white Democrats over the years?

So if a black person votes for the Macdaddy simply because he’s black, does that make them a racist against white people?

Maybe they should ask how many black people won’t vote for McCain simply because he’s white?

For every idiot who is going to come here and agree with this article, please, consider the facts. Democrats have led the charge to for a multi-cultural society in America. They speak of it in nothing but glowing terms. They welcome the coming of White minority status in America and the World.

Please, quit implying that they act from White racist motives. Their every action speaks to the contrary. Call them condescending, call them patronizing…the only racism they engage in is the kind designed to further disenfranchise the American majority.

Granting your contention that many of we white Democrats are prejudiced, or hold prejudice (little grammar lesson, there) against blacks, dare I point out that some of us some of us won’t vote for Barack because he’s an empty suit? As Hillary said to reporters in March of 2008, “I think that I have a lifetime of experience that I will bring to the White House. I know Senator McCain has a lifetime of experience to the White House. And Senator Obama has a speech he gave in 2002.” And former Democratic VP candidate Ferraro said, “If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position. And if he was a woman of any color, he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept.” And what’s Obama’s own VP pick say? Biden said, “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy.” Is Biden saying Obama’s an Uncle Tom, a black man safe enough to vote for? Sounds like that to me.

In the 1860’s republicans did away with slavery and were fought tooth and nail by democrats who wanted to keep slavery.

In the 1950’s democrats were fire hosing blacks and opposing segregation.

What do the democrats have in store for everyone this century? Plague?

Democrats were the party of slavery and segregation. It’s no shock they have racist members.

So Rhonda, the next time you’re walking the halls of the Post or sitting in on a staff meeting with your democrat colleagues at The Post, one-third of them are racists.

But the 99% of blacks who oppose McCain are not racists? Of course not. What a crock.

What % of blacks are voting for Obama? 95%? 98%?

Can we see some articles analyzing that?

No. OK, I didn’t think so. The MSM is in its dying throes of agony.

kaycee -

So what you’re saying is that everybody has to accept somebody who has policies they very much disagree with simply because of the color of his skin.

Isn’t that what blacks have been fighting against for 150 years?

Hello All, You all sound very silly. Nothing is going to be solved by snapping and cutting down one another, that is where all the negativity comes from in America. Racism is alive and well in America and it goes both directions for both whites and blacks. I am a black woman in America and I think that McCain is corrupt just like all government officials white or black and at some point should Obama win, he will have to set aside some moral principles as well because that is what comes with politics. I would like to see Obama win the presidency not only because we need a change but also because he is smart and has some good views; he isn’t going to do any worse than Bush. I don’t think that is possible. These days racism is just covered with policies and rules, which people always find a way around. White americans, try to think of yourself in a black person’s shoes, you will never understand that. I am sorry your ancestors were devils but that is just the way it is. I don’t hate white people and actually have alot of white friends and on the other hand I do think some of my black people take advantage and make alot of excuses but doesn’t everybody? This problem will never be solved. We all have to just deal with it. Most blacks will most likely vote for Obama because he’s black, but if you were in our shoes you would too. You don’t have to admit though.

I hope you don’t think this is because of your race, Rhonda, (I’d say the same thing to a whiter writer), but your headline as written makes no sense:

Many White Democrats Prejudice Against Blacks

(Are you missing a “d” there? Or perhaps the word you’re looking for is “prejudge” and leave out the against??)

Also, if your paper really wants to play the identity politics game, why not have a blogger on white issues talk about prejudice against small-town white people?

There has been so much animosity slung recently at say: ethical hunters who respect the animal and eat the meat, or mayors who govern small cities and towns (lots of them out there, you know), it’s too bad some Democrats think it in their interest to continue fueling such a losing battle…

I think that “clinging to guns and G-d” comment Obama made in San Francisco clearly laid down the successful defense that so many independent small-town voters are now responding to. Of couse, there are no bloggers here writing solely about “white” issues, and you’ll never begin to understand the defensive response to such insults if you don’t see such comments as insulting in the first place.

(ie/ “Pretty much, all policy is foreign to her”. Good for a few yuks amongst elitists perhaps; not successful in winning independent voters to your “side”.

OK, Rhonda (and all blacks reading this…..will you condemn this, or have you no integrity??

This is an article by a lady who says it’s OK to vote for Obama simply because he is black.

salondotcomopinion/kamiya/2008/02/26/obama/print

Now….2.5%?? That’s ridiculous. I GUARANTEE that just as many blacks would say the same about whites (if not more) and that A WHOLE LOT MORE will vote for Obama, just because he is black.

Wow all this venom bcz the nex prez mite be black. Fear motivates voters. The fear of gay people got Bush reelected. The fear of a 1/2 Black prez can get a corpse elected. The question is will fear win again.

Just to clarify. I did not do the study that says 2.5 percent of white Democrats won’t vote for Obama because he’s black. The Associated Press and Yahoo sponsored the study, and it’s been in the news for the past few days.

The United States of America is a nation who struggles with the existence of non-white people. It is a nation of White people with delusions of grandeur.

This presidential election year reveals the obvious, America is a still vibrantly a racist nation. This nation is comfortable with its myth since the candidates for President can freely capitalized on the country’s denial.

Individually, yes, the nation’s white people are in denial. Who the cap fits let them wear it!

What is brazen is the Democratic presidential hopeful.

Am equally disturbed by the Democrat and Republican camps. The latter is shameless and daring while the former is reserved and level headed. Obama is fighting for the survival of his country and he’s behaving unemotionally.

We are all human with humanly emotions, Obama.

I can’t help it but say it that Obama is afraid of displaying a trace of a man with African descendants. He has bought into the ‘typical’ and unsubstantiated stereotypes of non-white people with African descendants, ‘anger’.

Well, if anyone has earned the right to be angry, at any level, it is people of African descendants. So, don’t tell me as a human being you can’t express anger.

So, for National syndicated columnist to go out and seek responses to “Does race matter?” is outrageous. As if to say, you know it really does not matter. Here is a guy fighting for the presidency and his DNA is critical just as ‘lipstick’. Hah!

He has features of an African. He is part African. He is living an accomplished life as a person of African descendant. He is identified on his birth certificate as a non-white person of African descendant. He is catalogedby his country as a non-white person. However, he is carefully schooled by his campaign team not to say anything that classified him as having the identity of an African. There is a subliminal game being played and some white voters are looking at their prejudices unfavorably. They see, clear as the sunshine over South Florida, that being non-white is concerning.

Pretending his identity is not apparent and not a critical issue is abdicating his responsibility to the nation as a candidate for presidency. Yes, we all know the historical prodigiousness of his current title, but his campaign team is ashamed for no reason to my knowing. Please do not explain.

No man in this nation, of all nation, should be in the 21st century, abstained the words to say “I am an African-American” in front of hundreds of thousands of listeners and should not be stated any other way. And, he is in every sense of the words an African, an American of white heritage. Tearfully, his identity will bring him to a close win as best for presidency, the highest office of the land, if the voters choose to re-examine their racist ways.

To conclude, his emotion is muffled by his DNA and distracted by the zealousness of his white democrat campaign camp.
