Beyonce’s Not Light Enough?
L’Oreal’s new ad featuring singing sensation Beyonce Knowles shows us once again that when it comes to standards of beauty white is right and black is….well not. Even when you are light skinned black.
Yesterday, TMZ.com posted a photo of the ad under the headline L’Oreal/Beyonce Whitewash.
Beyonce’s face and body has clearly been altered to appear white.
We know photos of models and celebrities are routinely airbrushed so that they look younger and thinner, but this just goes too far.
And the bad part is Beyonce doesn’t even look prettier white. So what’s the point?
I’ve always felt she’s one of the few black women in Hollywood who can actually pull off the blonde look that many black singers and actresses try to do quite unsuccessfully. L’Oreal would’ve been better off leaving her looks just as they are.
If L’Oreal altered her appearance to appeal to white customers, why didn’t they just hire a white model?
